This is Hard, We Can Help

When supporting someone who is a survivor of sexual violence, harassment, or partner violence, it is very important to respond with empathy.

Here are some ideas about what to say:

  • Thank you for trusting me.
  • I am sorry this has happened.
  • I believe you.
  • How can I help you right now?
  • You are not alone and we can connect you people who can help.

It is important to understand your obligations regarding confidentiality, especially when receiving a disclosure from someone under 16 years of age. If you have questions, call us for a confidential consultation.
