PUBLIC EDUCATION
The Centre works towards social change by increasing public awareness about sexual violence.
The Centre offers information on sexual assault, date rape, sexual harassment, safety and other topics directed towards as sectors of the community.
This is accomplished through displays in malls and at community events, as well as presentations at educational institutions, businesses, churches, various community groups and agencies/organizations.

What kinds of groups do you offer presentations to?
The Centre has offered Public Education presentations to service clubs, organizations, primary, secondary and post secondary schools, church groups, work places, and various others.
What does it cost to have the Public Education Coordinator provide us with a presentation?
There is no cost to have the Public Education Coordinator provide your group with a presentation, however all donations are greatly appreciated.
How long is the presentation?
The presentation can be as long or as short as you need it to be. Presentations can be as short as 5 minutes and as long as a day workshop. The Public Education Coordinator will design a presentation that meets the specific needs of your group.
 
I am a student writing a paper regarding sexual assault and I need information. What kind of information does the Centre have?
The Centre has a lending library as well as many videos that can be viewed at the Centre.
The Public Education Coordinator can meet with you to help you find the resources that you are looking for.
 
What other ways does the Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre offer information to the community?
The Centre attends many community events. At these events the Centre has an information table where people can speak to a Centre representative and pick up information regarding sexual assault and Centre services.
