07 Apr LGBTQ* Task Force for Peterborough City & County
The LGBTQ* Task Force for Peterborough City & County was founded following the Lessons From Behind the Door Needs Assessment describing the invisibility of the LGBTQ* community in this region and the community’s experience of violence against sexuality, gender expression and gender identity (gender based violence).
The mission of the LGBTQ* Task Force for Peterborough City & County is:
To foster a spirit of inter-sectorial (e.g. health, education, business, law enforcement, volunteer and support services) collaboration and multidisciplinary participation in initiatives that advocate for, develop and promote a sustained culture of opportunity, equity and inclusivity for individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions (LGBTQ) in the City and County of Peterborough.
The member organizations of the LGBTQ* Task Force for Peterborough City & County will be hosting, in partnership with Rainbow Youth @ PARN, a Living Library and Community Forum in honour of International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 to hear from the LGBTQ* community what the successes, barriers and priorities are for this region.
